relating to DigiKam. Could you point me in the right direction please?

If you translated some strings, you create a diff and put it to reviewboard or
phabricator for review. (I need to check first where the current place for diff

I am assuming that the following page elaborates a bit more on the process.

Would I just do:

diff file1 file2 > diffedfile

Once the review has been checked-in to the repo, you update your checkouts and
translate the next bunch.

This is an issue of man power.
The Digikam translation is really large and currently unmaintained in the
German translation team.
That's unfortunate but since the vocabulary used in Digikam is non-trivial,
things will not improve in the forseeable future. ... unless someone steps up
and puts some time and love into it.

If the project is opened in Lokalize, you can type "digikam" in the filter bar
and see the main file. :)
But in general you can find the files in the extragear-graphics submodule. It's
everything with "digikam" or "kipi" in its name.

Let's wait for the reviewboard vs. Phabricator elaboration. Depending on what
we should use, there are command line tools that simplify the usage.

I am on holidays at the moment and I am willing to put some time and effort
into this.

Unfortunately my experience translating KDE-stuff is fairly limited but I do
have loKalize installed and can certainly do a few strings.

Where would I get the strings and where do I submit them?

Here is a rather general explanation of the process.

You need to check out the translation files from Subversion:
cd some_folder

Look into German translations statistics page, for the current developement
version (next 6.0.0 planed after this summer):

Look all *digikam* entries. The most important is digikam.po.

All the rest is not digiKam application. As you can see the normal status is
back with German translations, at least, the minimum maintenance is necessary
to complete all EN strings to GE strings.

You can test the translations with the 6.0.0 pre-release AppImage that we
provide here :
